“I\'ve been going to Lida for cuts but haven\'t had my hair dyed in a very long time. Well, after getting a little antsy a few weeks ago I decided to give myself at-home highlights on a whim. Long story short- I needed a professional to finish the process and to give me the even color I failed to achieve with my amateur skills. I went to Lida and couldn\'t be happier with the state of my hair now. Not only did she give me a great long, layered cut (as always) but she also took her time to give me amazing, natural-looking, and face-framing highlights. Impressive considering every other stylist I\'ve let tinker with my hair color has created either bleach stripes or what seemed to be invisible highlights.
And what, besides talent, makes a stylist really spectacular? When they care about getting it RIGHT for you. Lida knew she had already put two hours into the coloring process but still wanted to take me outside to allow me to view my hair in the sunlight, and asked me a dozen times if I was absolutely satisfied.

“Star is a dream.
I\'ve always dreaded getting my hair cut; so much so that for years I trimmed my mangy mane myself.
Listen: Thirty bucks is cheap for the delight one experiences when barbered by Star. Her adroit hand is capable both of taking direction and freestyling to perfection (I greatly dislike asking for any specifics and I\'m happy to leave my hair to the expert). I\'m not too ugly going in, but coming out I must admit I\'m a little distracted by my reflection in the windows.
Here\'s the best part. For me, it\'s always felt effortful or boring to have to chat during a cut, Star\'s sweet, easy conversation leaves me with a warm heart and curious mind (note, though: she\'s the first to admit that she\'s a little shy at first, so come back again--it\'s worth getting to know her).
